Dr David Lim



Dr Lim is a specialist geriatrician registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency, a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine. He graduated from Monash University and underwent physician training in Melbourne at Austin, Eastern and Alfred Health. He has also completed a Continence Fellowship and a Postgraduate Diploma in Perioperative Medicine (University College London). He has worked as a Consultant Geriatrician in Perth and is currently a General Physician at the Lyell McEwin & Modbury hospitals. In addition, he regularly visits residential aged care facilities (nursing homes) to review patients in the comfort of their own home.


He has a broad range of interests including delirium, dementia, continence, frailty, falls and balance, polypharmacy and perioperative geriatrics. He has published on these topics in peer-reviewed journals and been on expert committees for Melbourne University, Continence Foundation Australia and Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is a Clinical Associate Lecturer with University of Adelaide and remains active in teaching and mentoring both medical students and junior doctors.


He appreciates the complexities of ageing and is committed to helping consumers navigate the complex health system we are in. He adopts a collaborative approach to comprehensive patient centred care, involving family members and other health practitioners to achieve better outcomes and greater patient satisfaction.

He is happily married with three children and enjoys playing soccer, badminton and billiards. He is an avid Manchester United supporter and will try any type of cuisine known to man (although there are still question marks over Vegemite).
